Trek 610 from 1984

The frame for this Trek 610 was purchased a couple years ago at the bottom of its value cycle. Just $5 provided access to an American made Reynolds 531 frameset that was in need of repair. This frame provided a canvas for its owner to practice his brazing skills and get a tiny view into the steel frame building world.

The original frame failure was a crack at the lower head tube lug that affected both the head tube and the lower lug. In addition to the repair the torch was used to add a second set of water bottle bosses, shifter cable stops, and rear brake cable stops.

A used fork from a Bianchi Randonneur was added to complete the frameset which was then assembled into sport/rando style complete bicycle.
